Candle Care Guide
A beautiful burn begins with a little care.
Before the first light
Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts. Trim the wick to approximately 5 mm and remove all wick trimmings or debris from the wax.
Create an even melt pool
On the first burn, allow the wax to melt close to the edges of the vessel. This helps reduce tunnelling and supports a more even burn throughout the candle’s life.
Trim before every burn
Once the candle is completely cool, trim the wick back to about 5 mm. A properly trimmed wick helps reduce soot, smoke and an oversized flame.
Burn safely
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep away from children, pets, curtains and anything flammable.
- Do not burn for more than 3–4 hours at a time.
- Keep the candle upright and away from fans, open windows and drafts.
- Never move or touch the vessel while the wax is hot.
- Stop use when approximately 1 cm of wax remains at the bottom.
Extinguish and reset
Use a candle snuffer when possible. Do not use water. Let the vessel and wax cool completely before trimming, covering or relighting.
When the flame looks too high
Extinguish the candle, let it cool, trim the wick and relight. Discontinue use if the vessel is cracked, chipped or unusually hot.
